   Lock out and mark cameras

   p.51

   Always turn off power and lock out the machine according to LOTO policy before changing belts. Mark every sensor and camera position first.

   Gather an imperial Allen set, open-ended wrench, and screwdriver. Note whether you need the white or black belt (infeed and third conveyor are color-contrasted for the caps in use).

   • Do not lubricate vision bearings — they are sealed for life.

   Infeed — relieve tension

   Loosen and remove the two fasteners at the end of the conveyor (and the guard if needed). Loosen and remove the two 10-32 fasteners underneath. Loosen the two lock nuts and bolts.

   Remove four (4) 10-32 bolts and the Plexi guard. Remove six (6) 1/4-20 bolts and the end plate. Fidget the belt off, fit the replacement, and reinstall in reverse.

   First inspection — transition and guide

   Remove the transition plate (undo the jam nut on each side). Remove the guide: loosen and remove the four screws on the guide guard.

   Disconnect camera cables before unbolting. Note tower placement — they are keyed, but marks still save time.

   Remove the two camera towers closest to you. Undo the four (4) 1/4-20 screws on each tower.

   Be mindful of the fiber optics when the reject chute comes off.

   Remove the reject chute. Optionally remove the flip track for space. Loosen the lock nut and slacken the bolt on both sides, then remove the belt (or the belt adjustment plate if it will not come free). Reinstall in reverse.

   Second inspection — plates and fiber mount

   Remove the transition plate between this conveyor and the flip track. Remove the fiber-optic mount (two 10-32 screws). Remove the cap escape plate.

   Second inspection — chute, plexi, belt

   Remove the reject chute. Remove the Plexi guard (four 10-32 screws), then the end plate (six 1/4-20 bolts). Fidget the belt off, fit the white or black replacement, and reinstall in reverse.
